The Yogic Teachings tell us using the tool of sound is the fastest way to bring about change in the body and mind. Movement, breath, visualization, & meditation are all valuable tools to move us into different ways of being in our bodies and minds, but there is something about the vibration of sound that moves things along differently. There is a profound change in the physical body when sound is added to physical movement. The resulting changes are felt more deeply and quickly than almost any other form of practice.
Making sounds helps in healing and realigning our bodies, mind and spirits. This is why humans have sung, chanted, grunted and made sounds for as long as we can look back. Western Medicine is just now catching up to the health benefits of making sounds, including boosting our immune system, reducing pain, and lessening anxiety.
Facilitated by guest instructor yogi & Yoga Shala Founder Jody Kurilla, this Deep Dive workshop will be an exploration of sound and movement using calming and energizing practices. This is not singing, so not to worry if you think you can't carry a tune, and don't fret about the movement either as it’s gentle and inviting. Time will be given for discussion and questions throughout the workshop.

Jody Kurilla
Guest Facilitator: Voice, Vibration & Change Deep Dive
Jody Kurilla studied in the tradition of Sri T. Krishnamacharya, TKV Desikachar and Viniyoga, she was an early adopter in Yoga Therapeutics, and has been practicing for over 30 years and teaching since 2000. She founded the Yoga Shala of Portland and ran a renowned Advanced Studies and Teacher Training Program. Jody also teaches Yoga & Mindfulness classes at Nike World Headquarters for over 20 years.
What she has found over the years working with people from all walks of life, is everyone wants to be happy and healthy!

Why Are These Called Deep Dives
Deep Dives are named as such for a reason: this is a space to dive deep into a particular topic or tool; this is a space to dive deeper into yourself.
What You Can Expect:
- An immersive two-hour experience that will deepen your understanding and expand your toolkit through in-depth explorations led by Ladan and other guest experts. This is not your typical webinar. Expect to move and engage your body, and take up space.
- The group size is intentionally kept small so that your questions can be addressed individually during the session.
- All the play, laughter, and joy as we experiment, practice, and dive deep with the tools throughout the workshop. Expect to build new connections, while tapping into the wealth of wisdom within.
