DEEP DIVES WORKSHOPS

Dive deep into the sweet nectar and explore these unique workshops.

 Deep Dive Workshops

       What you can expect:

  • Deep Dives are named as such for a reason: this is a space to dive deep into a particular topic or tool; this is a space to dive deeper into yourself.
  • An immersive two-hour experience that will deepen your understanding and expand your toolkit through in-depth explorations led by Ladan and other guest experts. (Note: This is not your typical webinar. Expect to move and engage your body, and take up space.)
  • All the play, laughter, and joy as we experiment, practice, and dive deep with the tools throughout the workshop. Expect to build new connections, while tapping into the wealth of wisdom within.

“I have appreciated the movement processes you introduced with heart and enthusiasm. It is a treat to share this with the community while also being on my own.”

Deep Dive Workshops Returning Fall 2022

Voice, Vibration & Change

Returning Fall of 2022

The Yogic Teachings tell us using the tool of sound is the fastest way to bring about change in the body and mind. Movement, breath, visualization, & meditation are all valuable tools to move us into different ways of being in our bodies and minds, but there is something about the vibration of sound that moves things along differently. There is a profound change in the physical body when sound is added to physical movement.

Making sounds helps in healing and realigning our bodies, mind and spirits. This is why humans have sung, chanted, grunted and made sounds for as long as we can look back. Western Medicine is just now catching up to the health benefits of making sounds, including boosting our immune system, reducing pain, and lessening anxiety.

Facilitated by guest instructor yogi & Yoga Shala Founder Jody Kurilla, this Deep Dive workshop will be an exploration of sound and movement using calming and energizing practices. This is not singing, so not to worry if you think you can't carry a tune, and don't fret about the movement either as it’s gentle and inviting. Time will be given for discussion and questions throughout the workshop.

All Levels are welcome.

Learn the Language of Your Body

Returning Fall of 2022

When asked, most of us agree that wisdom has a quality of “knowing” that goes far beyond intellectual understanding. Wise people have a way of effortlessly penetrating and expressing qualities like clarity, humor, stability, compassion and discernment. At times, they even seem to straddle the world of the mundane and the supernatural. Aristotle said knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”

Most of us use our thoughts as a primary mode of knowing ourselves, but our thoughts are mostly occupied with managing our daily responsibilities and to-do lists. Our thoughts are also restricted to words that emerge from our conscious mind and are limited in revealing the vast Knowing our Soma (greek word for Body) contains.

T.I.M.E.S., the acronym for Thoughts, Images, Movements, Emotions, and Sensations, is adopted from renowned somatic therapist Kimberly Ann Johnson and stands for all the languages with which our bodies reveal their wisdom  T.I.M.E.S. is a key tool for listening to the body.

In this Deep Dive workshop you will learn to listen to your body’s languages. By parsing out how our bodies speak to us, we can get out of unhelpful and limiting patterns, gain new perspectives and unlock our innate wisdom and creativity. Through this, we can begin to understand and appreciate the fullness of our lives.

Embodying The Elements

Returning Fall of 2022

We are part of nature. Our bodies are nature. Chinese medicine describes wood, fire, earth, metal, and water as the basic elements of the material world, including us. Each element is associated with different body organs, colors, flavors, sense perception, emotions, and seasons. Better known as Five Element Theory, it is suggested that the five elements play a role in the balance of energies in the body, contributing to everything from personality traits to health and well-being.

Join in this interactive Deep Dive where we’ll learn more about the Five Elements while exploring our own experience of them inside our bodies. We’ll explore these dynamic energies, ways they interact, change and balance each other.

Let’s welcome spring by exploring your body and its trajectory, guided by the understanding of the elements and their interconnectedness with the cardinal directions, seasons, and our bodies.
