Learn the Language of Your Body
Saturday, April 30, 2022
9:00am - 11:00am PST | 12noon - 2:00pm EST
When asked, most of us agree that wisdom has a quality of “knowing” that goes far beyond intellectual understanding. Wise people have a way of effortlessly penetrating and expressing qualities like clarity, humor, stability, compassion and discernment. At times, they even seem to straddle the world of the mundane and the supernatural. Aristotle said “knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”
Most of us use our thoughts as a primary mode of knowing ourselves, but our thoughts are mostly occupied with managing our daily responsibilities and to-do lists. Our thoughts are also restricted to words that emerge from our conscious mind and are limited in revealing the vast Knowing our Soma (greek word for Body) contains.
T.I.M.E.S., the acronym for Thoughts, Images, Movements, Emotions, and Sensations, is adopted from renowned somatic therapist Kimberly Ann Johnson and stands for all the languages with which our bodies reveal their wisdom T.I.M.E.S. is a key tool for listening to the body.
In this Deep Dive workshop you will learn to listen to your body’s languages. By parsing out how our bodies speak to us, we can get out of unhelpful and limiting patterns, gain new perspectives and unlock our innate wisdom and creativity. Through this, we can begin to understand and appreciate the fullness of our lives.
