Finding Goodness in Our Bodies

Saturday December 4, 2021

9am-12noon PST

and i said to my body. softly. ‘i want to be your friend.’ it took a long breath. and replied ‘i have been waiting my whole life for this.’

-Nayyirah Waheed

For many of us, feeling our bodies is a foreign idea (maybe even scary at times). Most of us in the modern world, particularly as women, have become estranged from our bodies.

We perceive our bodies mostly as machines that we maintain in order to do other things with. It’s about looking good in our clothes, working out to maintain a certain weight, and eating foods that make us healthier. But, when was the last time you really felt your body and connected with it?

What would happen if we began relating to our bodies differently? What if instead of falling in the trap of feeling bad in and about our bodies, we focused our attention on what FEELS GOOD in our bodies?

In this half day intimate group setting, you will find and feel what already feels good in your body intrinsically through the simple practices Ladan will teach you. Reconnecting with what naturally feels good inside leads to a sense of well-being, happiness and compassion no matter what is going on in our lives.

By the time you are finished with the session, you will have a step-by-step process of how to inhabit your body in a whole new way - exactly as you are.

This intimate Retreat is designed with minimum screen time, and maximum connection with community and self.

Making Friends with Ourselves

Saturday November 6, 2021

9am-12noon PST

We have all been through so much. All of us. Such a long journey is this life with so many peaks and valleys. So much has already happened and so much still to come.

To make space to acknowledge our feelings is rare. Knowing how to work with our feelings in a healthy and compassionate way, even more rare.

Our intimate group session will include Loving-kindness meditation instruction, gentle movement, Embodied Mindfulness/awareness techniques and guided visualizations that will help you open the door to accepting and appreciating your precious being with all that you have been through. This appreciation holds the key to relaxing with yourself at any given moment, which naturally results in feeling more open, peaceful and compassionate.

By the time we are finished, you will have tools that you can employ to return again and again to the natural warmth, relaxed and wakeful qualities that are innate to you and all beings.

Opening to Our World through Our Senses

Saturday November 20, 2021

9am-12noon PST

How often do you find yourself so caught up in your head that you can't remember how your last meal tasted or how you got from Point A to Point B or you find yourself working on a project or trying to solve a problem, but just can’t bring a fresh perspective to it? Feels like often, we are sleep-walking through our days, right?

Good news is that we can wake up at any moment by paying attention and connecting to our SENSES. When we remember to tune into our senses, the world comes to life as vivid and rich. Routine and boredom loose their grip and we experience the freshness of each moment and everything we interact with. Being refreshed in this way breaks our cycles of over-thinking, negativity, feeling blocked and exhaustion which naturally leads to increased energy, clear thinking, creativity and enjoyment.

In this half day intimate group setting, taught by our Founder Ladan Yalzadeh, you will expand and deepen your connection with your 6 senses of sound, smell, sight, taste, touch and kinesthesia through isolating, activating and heightening each sense individually. During the session, you will have an opportunity to integrate your findings into any 'real-life' challenges or blockages you are facing.

Through the practices that Ladan will teach, you will go beyond your usual tendencies to ignore your sense perceptions and begin to experience your senses as highly nuanced, clear, curious and powerful gateways to understanding and experiencing your life

This intimate Retreat is designed with minimum screen time, and maximum connection with community and self.

What the Buzz is All About

Teresa

“I was missing connection and a practice that connects my mind and body. I was feeling stagnant and movement sounded perfect for this time… 1) generous and effervescent facilitator. 2) This amazing group of lovely people. 3) Learning something new… HIT is for everyone and I'll recommend to friends!”

Ellen

“I feel more of a connection to the language of my body and a desire to listen to it. There is a calmness that I feel when I decide to do that. I also always feel better when I remember to move my body in ways we practiced to get unstuck.”

Cindy

“Ladan did an excellent job of explaining and presenting techniques and making sure sessions stayed on track for the topic and timing. Each week built on the other to offer techniques to connect mind and body in a way that helped me calm anxiety and be more aware of where I hold tension and stress.”

Hi, I'm Ladan!

I coach and empower women and men through somatic movement, embodied mindfulness, creative tools, visualization and other advanced grounding and freeing practices to help them be in and (re)connect with their bodies, find joy & relaxation and overcome stress, unhelpful patterns and beliefs.

We do this by finding and returning again and again to what feels good in our bodies. Increasing our connection with this innate goodness leads to experiencing our natural wisdom, joyfulness and health.

I have been a meditator and mindfulness guide for 15 years teaching a cross section of new meditators. I facilitate and lead the monthly Virtual and in-person BIPOC Mediation Group for the Seattle Shambhala Center. I am also a co-founder and teacher of the ongoing Contemplative Creativity Lab monthly gathering since 2013. I hold an MFA in Creative Practices from Plymouth University, UK.
